Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about url2video.

Do I need an account?

Not for single recordings! Just paste a URL, pay $3, and download your video. Accounts are automatically created when you buy a credit pack. We'll send you a sign-in link via email so you can access your credits from any device.

What format is the video?

MP4 (H.264). Works everywhere: social media, presentations, websites, slide decks. The video is Full HD 1080p at 25fps.

How long does recording take?

Usually a couple of minutes, depending on the page length. Longer pages take longer to scroll through. You'll see a progress indicator while we capture.

Do credits expire?

No. Purchased credits never expire. Use them whenever you want: days, weeks, or months after purchase.

What is video hosting?

After recording, you can optionally host your video on our global CDN for $1/mo. You get a permanent link to embed on any website or share anywhere. Ultra-fast delivery from 200+ locations worldwide, no bandwidth limits.

Can I cancel hosting?

Yes, cancel anytime from your dashboard. Your hosted video link will remain active until the end of your billing period.

How do I sign in?

We use email-based sign-in, so there are no passwords to remember. Enter your email and we'll send you a sign-in link. Or use the permanent link from your purchase confirmation email.

What if I lose my credits?

Credits purchased with a pack are tied to your account (email). Just sign in from any device using your email and your credits will be there.

Can I record any website?

Most public websites work great. Sites behind logins, paywalls, or with heavy anti-bot protection may not record properly. If a recording fails, you won't be charged.

What resolution is the video?

Full HD 1920×1080 at 25fps. The video captures the page exactly as it appears in a desktop browser, scrolling smoothly from top to bottom.

Can I customize the recording?

Yes! You can set a custom viewport width and scroll speed. More customization options are coming soon.

Is there an API?

We're working on a developer API for bulk recording. If you're interested, reach out and we'll keep you posted.
